Hello, there~ My name is Andromeda Black. Most people call me Andie. I'm seventeen, and a seventh year Slytherin.
{ wear }
Contrary to popular belief, I'm not exactly . . . "pro-pureblood", let's put it. I don't look at anybody as lowlier to their bloodline, and just because I'm a Black doesn't mean I do.
My favorite class is Astronomy, and I can't fly worth a darn.
Send me an owl, I love to talk!
“Aye, she tends to do that. Gryffindor through and through, my Mary Mac, and a rather vocal one at that,” he grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. She corrected his time of day and he looked around, blinking at the brighter than usual sunlight.
“You’re right,” he nodded. “Usually I go for my run in the mornings, you see. I’m a little backwards since I slept in. It’s good to hear you’re doing well. As for me and Lily, well. We’re something. I don’t know what it is, but it’s good.”
It was nice to be able to tell someone that. He hadn’t mentioned it to anyone yet. And the idea that something good could have come out of this whole mess with Rodolphus Lestrange - it gave him hope. Even thinking about her, about the way she looked in his t-shirt, the way her lips felt on his, made him feel suddenly warm inside, and he couldn’t help the beatific grin that spread across his face at the thought.
Andromeda laughed and shook her head, moving some flyaway strands of hair from her face. “I haven’t had much of a chance to get to know her, but I definitely won’t disagree with that,” she admitted amusedly, thinking once again of their earlier exchange. ‘Vocal’ was right. Andromeda hardly had to say anything to set Mary off on them - really, all she’d said was that she was feeling great - and everything had gone sour.
Whatever. It was over now, and although she doubted reconciliation was eminent, she hoped that at least things would calm between them. Hopefully James would drop her a good word, because she hardly wanted to spend her last bit of time at Hogwarts arguing with another girl.
Andromeda shrugged. “It happens,” she said. “I actually just did it not to long ago, to be honest. Said good morning at nine in the evening,” she admitted with a small laugh, shaking her head once more. “Anyway - I’m really glad to hear things are going well between you two. I knew they would sooner or later. Merlin, I think half the school was just wondering when it would happen, whereas the other half were wondering why you never gave up. Good thing you didn’t, though, right?”
Woohooo… Party!
I like that name. One of the happiest people on the planet. I’m okay really Andromeda… Just a bad week. A lot of things have been on my mind and… Yeah. I’m okay though don’t worry.
I speak only the truth, Teddy-boy! But really … are you sure? I’m always open to listen if you want to talk about it. If you don’t, I’m also willing to change the subject and get back to cheering.

I suppose it is a good day isn’t it? You’ve got me all happy now. You deserve some sort of award. Amos has been trying to make me smile all morning but has been failing. I’ve been a bit depressed you see. It’s all Hogwarts seems to be at the moment. Depressed. Plus I have tonnes of Homework to do before tomorrow. But now I feel better. Thank you Dromeda.
And for that I take immense pride! My oh my, I can’t believe I’ve managed to cheer you up before Amos. This calls for a party!

I’m so sorry, though … What’s been bothering you? Besides homework, I mean. Is everything alright? I mean, I’m glad I was able to cheer you up! But still, you, being one of the happiest people on the planet, shouldn’t have needed cheering up to begin with.

“I didn’t have a very good past, but I’m trying to make up for it now,” he said noticing her frown. He smiled again and chuckled at his nickname. “I wish that my father was not such a bastard and I wish that you find happiness wherever that may be.” He smiled and laughed at his statement. “Am I to be forever known as ‘wishful thinker’?”
“Well, at least your doing something about it,” Andromeda nodded, “as opposed to simply letting it continue.” She said, and raised her eyebrows. “Well, thank you very, very much for that,” she said honestly, and with an earnest smile. “But how about a wish for yourself, Selfless?” she asked, then laughed again. She had to admit, this walk was definitely a good idea. It was exactly what she needed to lift her spirits a bit. “Oh, yes. Isn’t it great, though? Wishful thinking is a wonderful thing, I think. It makes life tolerable.”
“Didn’t figure you for the sort,” he said, shrugging and grinning. He rubbed his hand through his hair, which was, mercifully, clean and distinctly sweat-free, as he’d barely started running. “You’ll have to forgive Mary. She gets pretty…defensive.”
Well, he was pretty sure she didn’t have to forgive Mary for anything. He really hated this position he was in. Mary was clearly his best girl, as he’d told her quite honestly only a few days before, but he really respected Andromeda as a person, and he didn’t much enjoy being in the middle of them.
“So,” he said, trying valiantly to change the subject. “How are you on this fine morning?”
“Neither did I,” Andromeda joked, shaking her head. She sighed and nodded, rubbing the back of her neck a bit awkwardly. “I figured as much. I don’t know where she got the idea from that Ted was cheating on her with me, honestly. I guess because we’ve been talking …” she trailed off, and shrugged. Clearly everybody else knew the rest. “I’m not really mad at her, to be honest. I just wish she’d stop jumping on me.”
Andromeda let out a silent breath of relief when James changed the subject, dreading digging herself in any deeper of a rut with this mess than she was already in. “Afternoon,” she corrected with a smile, and shrugged. “I’ve been doing pretty well, actually. Woke up in a wonderful mood, to be honest,” she said, and she still was in a great mood. It was just a bit harder to enjoy the mood with everything that had happened earlier. But she’d sworn to herself that it wouldn’t get her down. She was going to enjoy every minute of every day if it killed her.
“How about you?” Andromeda asked, cocking her head. “Any luck with Miss Lily Evans?”
“I said some very not nice things to Lily out of anger and then we grew apart. Only recently have we started talking again.” He looked down. “That I think would be one of the things I would take back,” he said turning around to walk backwards and face her. “I feel like if I knew what would happen and then I could go change it, maybe things would be different.” He turned back around walking forward again. “Maybe I am just a loony.”
Andromeda nodded slowly. “Ah,” she said with a small frown. “Well … I’m glad you two are getting on again.” Mudblood. That’s exactly what he meant, and she knew it. It was a word she’d banned from her vocabulary many, many years ago. It always sounded like such a terrible, vulgar word. To be quite honest, she was a bit shocked that Severus Snape had used it at all - he never really struck her as the type of person. “Who knows?” Andromeda asked with a smile, spreading her arms wide. “You may just get the opportunity! And you’re no loony. I’d rather think of you as a … ‘wishful thinker’,” she smirked, jogging to catch up to him. “So tell me, Wishful Thinker, what else do you wish for?”
